YTB - The Cure For Idea Diarrhea!
May 14, 2008 on 4:55 pm | In Home Business, Income Ideas, Travel Club | No CommentsPersonally, I love great ideas. When I see unique and unusual business ideas, my mind goes into overdrive and I immediately start thinking about all kinds of new possibilities.
Can you relate to that?
Well, recently I had a conversation with Stu, a Canadian business associate, that dramatically changed my perspective regarding the true value of an idea.
And this came from a guy who markets himself “The Idea Guy.”
I asked Stu for his opinion on a new idea that I would like to implement. He wanted to hear about it so we went to a coffee shop and I started up my laptop in order to show him my “impressive idea.” He listened to my “master plan” as I went through all the details and explained how this idea was going to be my salvation. You know, the million dollar idea.
After I finished my explanation, he immediately asked me a question. “Would you like me to show you how to triple the amount of money you will make during the next 12 months?” Of course I wanted to.
I didn’t expect what came next. He grabbed my computer, closed it and said. “Kaare, you don’t need any more ideas. You just need to take action on the ones that you already have. Choose one or more of the programs that you already have joined. Do something with that. Take action!”
That’s not what I wanted to hear, but soon afterwards, it started to sink in.
An Idea By Itself Is Worthless.
Only when someone has taken some kind of action on an idea does it then gain value.
So many would-be entrepreneurs suffer from “Idea Diarrhea.” It’s a disease that stops more entrepreneurs from making the kind of progress they’ve always dreamed of than anything else.
It’s inevitable that ideas breed new ideas. You’ll have a million dollar idea on Monday and as you start working on it, Monday’s idea stimulates another. So on Tuesday you stop working on Monday’s idea and start taking action on Tuesday’s. Then Wednesday comes along, and guess what? You’ve got “another” million dollar idea.
Unfortunately, this cycle continues and before you know it, you’ve got a whole bunch of half-baked ideas not making you any money.
I realize now that the idea itself wasn’t as important as the speed of taking action on the idea. Everyone has ideas but the people who succeed in this world are the ones who take action on their ideas.
People join programs because it seemed like a good idea at the time. Then other things, other ideas, other programs enter our lives and all of a sudden good ideas aren’t such good ideas anymore. The reason was that they failed to take action.
Successful people have something in common; they took action!
All of us have joined YTB, a leader in the largest industry in the world. We have something that has made other people millionaires. Are they smarter than you? Probably not! Do they have better education than you? Probably not!
For most people speed is important. If you don’t do it quickly, it will never get done. The longer you drag your feet the less likely you are to complete it. If you don’t complete the steps necessary to make your travel business a reality quickly, chances are you won’t do it later and you won’t make any money with YTB. Just as you wouldn’t make any money with any other opportunity or any other idea. It’s that simple.
Stu’s lecture made me think and it made me re-commit to YTB. I know now that I want to become a director within two years and I will do what it takes to get there.
And the first step is to take action.
Is A Home-Based Business In Your Future?
April 27, 2008 on 4:31 pm | In Home Business, Income Ideas, Marketing Academy, Training, Your Internet Biz | No CommentsToday more and more people have taken a look at a home-based business as their primary business. It’s people disillusioned with the corporate world, baby boomers who don’t want to or can’t afford to retire, housewives in need of extra family income, as well a the unemployed who cannot find anything other than working as McDonald clerks or Wal-Mart greeters. And people are looking at their home-based business as their primary business and not just the multi-level marketing that is usually done off the kitchen table.
Everybody talks about some of the extremely successful entrepreneurs who got their start in garages or basements, i.e. Bill Gates & Paul Allen (Microsoft), Ted Waitt & Mike Hammond (Gateway), Larry Page & Sergio Brin ( Google), Pierre Omidyar (eBay), Michael Dell (Dell Computers) and Jerry Yang & David Filo (Yahoo). These entrepreneurs eventually moved away from their garages and into the corporate world where they operate billion dollar empires.
Today’s entrepreneurs who are starting businesses out of their homes are usually staying there, even as their businesses are taking off.
The latest U.S. Census statistics on non-employer firms, defined to include home-based businesses and those run by one or more individuals, show that the number of self-employed reached 20.4 million in 2005, an increase of 4.4 percent from the previous year. According to NASE home-based businesses constitute 53 percent of all small businesses in the United States.
The declining economy is bound to drive even more frustrated people into home-based businesses over the next few years. The majority of Americans believe we are heading into a period of recession. Traditionally, during a recession, more people turn to self-employment because traditional jobs are difficult to come by.
It is common today for young people, raised on computers and the Internet, to want to avoid working for somebody else. Instead they are creating opportunities for themselves outside of the traditional workplace.
So, if 2008 is the year you’re planning to finally break free of the office and start your own home-based business, may it be a consulting business, online retail, eBay business, information marketing or any other plans you may have, you would be well advised not to rush into your dream. Take your time to learn some of the basics about the business model that you want to follow. Don’t quit your day job and start your home-based business the next day.
Fortunately, the Joe Congo Marketing Academy has a program designed just for you that allows you to do exactly that, while gradually building residual income that will continue to increase while you are learning your new home-based business.

What Should You Sell On The Internet
April 9, 2008 on 9:43 pm | In Home Business, Income Ideas, Marketing Academy, Your Internet Biz | No CommentsToday we’ll take a look at what you need to consider when deciding what kind of product or services you should market in your homebased business. Surprisingly enough, this is actually one of the easiest decisions you’ll have to make because it really comes down to one simple question.

What is selling on the Internet right now?
The biggest sellers on the Internet are sex sites. I personally would not have anything to do with those sites, so I’m going to focus on the second biggest seller on the Internet.
Marketing and selling information is in response to the vast amount of information that is available on the Internet every day. Think about it. What are millions of people doing on the Internet at this very moment? They are looking for information just like you are now.
In the early days of the Internet everything was free. Today, while people are still searching for free information, they are now accustomed to have to pay for more advanced training. This is creating tremendous opportunities for information marketers.
Selling information digitally over the Internet has several tremendous advantages that you won’t see anywhere else, making it a very lucrative business model.
Here are some of the most important ones:
1. Low start-up costs. If you already have Internet service it is possible to get started without any cost. 2. Very low overhead. 3. Advertising advantages over any other type of media. 4. High perceived product value if you choose the right products. 5. Instant delivery. 6. No shipping and handling costs. 7. No product storage. 8 Unlimited income potential. It is totally up to you how much you’ll make.
What other business can claim all these advantages?
Once the website is set up, all you have to do is focus on your marketing efforts and public relations efforts, such as answering questions sent to your e-mail account. Best of all, you will continue to make money while you sleep, go to church, shop at Wal-Mart, go on vacations or spend quality time with family and friends.
It’s not only the great income potential, but also the lifestyle change that is attractive to all of us.
You can and should eventually produce your own informational products. But in the meantime, who wants to spend all that time writing a book without knowing how to make profits from it? The best way to get started and to learn is to sell other people’s products.
To gain required experience in the online marketing world, I would recommend buying the resale rights to sell other products that have already been proven to sell.
Some Internet Business Tools
April 7, 2008 on 3:02 pm | In Home Business, Marketing Academy, Resources, Training, Your Internet Biz | No Comments
In my opinion the most important Internet marketing business tool is Outsourcing. You can outsource almost anything when it comes to your business, just as you are already doing in your personal life. Examples are dry cleaners, lawn service, restaurants and hair dresser. I will also cover several other invaluable tools that will help assure online success.
Virtual Assistant:
Consider outsourcing part of your work load to a virtual assistant. You won’t have to pay the extra employee payroll costs and you can save precious time. You only pay your assistant when needed. Virtual assistants can do a number of tasks: writing, editing, website/graphic design, secretarial, accounting, bookkeeping, marketing, copywriting and so much more.
Webinars and Teleconferences:
Increase your traffic by holding free teleclasses and webinars. You can refer attendees to your website for more information. You can also discuss products or services that you sell at the end or during the teleclass. You could offer them daily, weekly or monthly. Whenever you have time. You get the best results when you invite other experts to speak and teach.
Autoresponders:
I dare say that if you do not have an autoresponder, and a list of course, you do not have a business. They are that important. The best ones are AWeber, AutoResponsePlus and GetResponse. Most of them will cost you about $20 per month. Some are available for a one-time charge. When you become a member of Joe Congo Marketing Academy, you get an autoresponder service without an additional charge.
You collect leads with your autoresponder and it gives you the ability to follow-up automatically on the email addresses you capture. It makes it easy for you to stay in touch with your prospects and customers. Autoresponders are a perfect way to increase traffic to your site. They can save many valuable hours by automatically answering emails concerning frequently asked questions about a service or product or by sending a welcome letter to new members of your program. One of the most important uses is the ability to track the effectiveness of your promotions.
Reprint Rights:
Sell the reprint rights to your website content. It can be articles, e-books, reports, etc. Allow people to compile them into an e-book and sell it. Just require them to include your ad copy and link back to your website in the e-book. You can also allow people give the e-book away. The important part is to get your name and links out there.
You Competitors Products:
It is perfectly legal to study your competitors by buying their products or by simply checking out their websites. You’ll learn about their customer service, follow-up marketing, upsell offers, etc. You’ll also get great new ideas for your own business. Another option is to contact your competition and ask them if they are interested in doing a joint venture with you. You could possibly double your results without additional cost or effort.

How To Get Motivated
April 6, 2008 on 12:01 pm | In Home Business, Self Help, Training | No Comments
To be successful in life you have to get enough motivation to do something.
We don’t get rewarded for good intentions, knowledge or just for great ideas. If that were the case then the most successful people would be philosophers and professors.
While we all need good intentions, knowledge and ideas are not enough unless you are motivated enough to do something about them.
There is power in action…otherwise it is just a dream. Here are some tips to help you get started getting more motivation in your life.
Get a Big Enough WHY
We all do things for a reason, whether it is through inaction or action, they are all a choice. Unless we have a big enough reason “Why” we need to take action, then there is just to much momentum to keep on doing what you always have been doing. And how do you expect different results all of a sudden just doing what you’ve always bee doing.
A great way to get a big enough “why” to take action, is doing a writing exercise where you spend some time to write out all the benefits you are going to get if you take action. Picture what your life would be like if you were to take action today. Then write out what your life would be like if you didn’t take action, what would you miss out on and what would you lose. By giving yourself enough reasons to take action you will also give yourself the conviction to get motivated.
Get Started Today
A common problem why people have difficulty to get motivated is that they always postpone what they need to do today till tomorrow. Have you ever heard someone who is all excited about changing their diet and introducing an exercise regime so that they can lose weight. Only to hear at the end of the conversation that they will start it first thing Monday morning.
The best time to start something is yesterday. The second best time is today. Stop putting off what you need to do until sometime in the future because the future never happens, you only have control over your present.
Be Accountable
A great way to get motivated to take action is to tell someone what you want to do or change in your life. Tell them the details and when you will actually do it by. That way you now have someone who knows about your plans and deadlines. None of us want to disappoint people in our lives, or be embarrassed by the failure of reaching our goals, so this is a great way to get motivated to get things done.
Set a Deadline
A deadlines is a great way to get you motivated especially when it starts to loom closer and closer. We have all gone through those times during school or when we had to do an assignment only to put it off until the deadline was almost there. Eventually we ended up cramming to finish it till the wee hours of the morning prior to the due date.
Deadlines can get you motivated when nothing else seems to work. Of course this is not the ideal way to get yourself motivated, but if it gets you to take action it is better than nothing.
Create Urgency
The reason most people aren’t motivated to make changes in their lives is because there just is not enough urgency to take action. They have a false sense of belief that tomorrow will always be waiting and they will get started. It wasn’t until the September 11 attack on the World Trade Center in New York that most people woke up and realized that there just isn’t any guarantee that tomorrow is actually going to come for them.
The terrorist attacks woke up many people enough to take action and review their lives. People ended up motivated enough to drastically change many areas of their lives and put a sense of balance into their world.
But why do we need a terrorist attack to make such a decision?
At the end of the day you cannot rely on someone else to get you motivated. Others might produce short term results, but in the long run the only person that can give you the motivation you need is YOU.
To be successful in your profession or your business you MUST TAKE ACTION!
Making Everyday Your Masterpiece
April 1, 2008 on 9:48 pm | In Home Business, Marketing Academy, Training, Your Internet Biz | No CommentsToday, I want to share with you the importance of “MAKING EVERYDAY YOUR MASTERPIECE” this is something I have learned from John Wooden, legendary coach of the UCLA Bruins, who won 10 NCAA Tournaments with them during his tenure. John Wooden will be 97 years this year and I have pattern a lot of my coaching and teaching from his principles.
One of the things that gives us an edge over the rest is that we make everyday count. No matter what! You see it doesn’t matter what you’re going to do some day, but what’s important is what we’re going to do TODAY that will change our tomorrow. Too many people live in a “SOME DAY I’LL…” world. I love what Robert Kiyosaki says, “Your future is determined by what you do today, not tomorrow.” What are the two or three things you can do today, in your Internet home business, that will be seed for your tomorrow and cause your life and business to just explode into Greatness?
My dad used to say to me all the time, “why put off tomorrow what you can do today!” Therefore before you put your head on that pillow at night, ask yourself, “Have I done everything that I said I was going to do for my business today?” Then one day you will look back and will be proud of the decisions that you made every day.
The reason most people never reach their goals is that they don’t define them, or ever seriously consider them as believable or achievable. Winners can tell you where they are going, what they plan to do along the way, and who will be sharing the adventure with them. - Denis WaitleyIf you’re bored with life — you don’t get up every morning with a burning desire to do things you don’t have enough goals. - Lou Holtz
Making Your Life Count
March 22, 2008 on 10:25 pm | In Home Business, Income Ideas, Marketing Academy, Self Help, Talk Fusion, Training, Travel Club, Xoodlz | No Comments
Think for a moment about the people you admire and would classify as “great, or achievers, or movers and shakers”. Throughout all of history we can find them being quoted, used as the standard and even revered.
Even though many of their backgrounds, professions and stories are different - they seem to contain at least two common essential elements that were instrumental in leading them to greatness: systematic thinking and movement with urgent purpose.
We have all experienced this: concentrated thoughts cause results, while scattered mental patterns do not. The example of a magnifying glass being held over a piece of paper comes to mind. The result is fire! But, keep moving the magnifying glass around on the paper and what do you get? Nothing.
When your thoughts, energy and activity are scattered and all over the board, you create no focal point, no intensity, no sense of urgency resulting in - no fire.
Our heroes are those who seemingly accomplish more in a single year than most create in a lifetime. I personally know a lady in the travel business that I belong to, that joined the company three years ago and is now the #2 earner in the company. She made more than $3 million last year and is the top female earner in the the entire travel industry ! All this from a woman who was, by her own testimony, sleeping in her car and showering at truck stops just 3 years ago.
The world cries out for men and women who can get things done. Humanity itself has never been so prepared to follow those who are authentic in their promise to lead others to where they want to go.
But what about you? What role will you play in history?
Greatness derives not only from working harder, but from working more effectively through systematic thought and movement with urgent purpose. It comes from selling out. It comes from drawing a line in the sand and declaring to the world, “This is my time, this is my place, and this is my purpose. I will complete the task and fulfill my destiny.”
Joe Congo offers all the training you need to excel in your Home Business Opportunity, but you are the one who must take action. You are the one who must seek Greatness. Nobody else can do it for you.
5 Simple Steps To Uncovering Your Next Goal
March 22, 2008 on 9:59 pm | In Home Business, Income Ideas, Marketing Academy, Self Help, Training, Travel Club, Your Internet Biz | No Comments5 Simple Steps to Uncovering Your Next Goal.Do you know what you want? What you really want? While they might not always be easy to find, the answers to this question are there, waiting for you. And if you just have 15 minutes to spare, those answers can soon be yours. Do you want a Home Business Opportunity?
Before you begin, you’ll need a pencil, a pad of paper, a planner or personal calendar, and a timer or watch. As you answer each of the questions below, don’t over think it or worry about the “right” things to say. The point is to gather the first things that pop into your head, so feel free to write anything and everything that comes to mind.
STEP 1 - THINK LONG-TERM. What do you want to accomplish by the end of your life? Start the timer and spend three minutes - and three minutes only - writing down your answers. Have you always wanted to write a novel? Start a business? Join the Peace Corps?
STEP 2 - THINK NEXT YEAR. What do you want to accomplish one year from today? Again, just spend three minutes recording all the thoughts and ideas that pop into your
head. Would you like to pursue a new career path? Spend more time with your family?
STEP 3 - THINK NEXT MONTH. What if you found out that you had just one month to live? What would you do with your remaining thirty days? Spend three minutes writing your answers. Would you travel to another country? Get in touch with old friends? Risk it all can chase that dream you’ve kept locked away inside?
STEP 4 - WHAT DID YOU FIND? Review your answers to each of the questions above. What broader themes do you notice? What do they say about who you are and what you really want out of life? After three minutes of looking over what you’ve written, answer the question: What I really want to do next is…
STEP 5 - PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER. With the next big idea in hand, it’s important to make sure it doesn’t go to waste. Think of a specific action you can take within the next seven days that will get this new goal rolling in the right direction and schedule it in your planner.
Live The 3-Foot Rule
March 22, 2008 on 9:43 pm | In Fundraising Events, Golf Adventures, Home Business, Income Ideas, Marketing Academy, Talk Fusion, Training, Travel Club, Xoodlz, Your Internet Biz | No CommentsLive the 3-foot rule regardless of which one of the Home Business Opportunities you decide to choose.
Make a commitment-when someone comes within 3 feet of you, they are going to know what business you are in. More business in network marketing is built on the 3-foot rule than on anything else. People are everywhere-you don’t have to look for them. Just go where people are. Successful network marketers are always meeting new people as a way of building their business. Go to new places, join new groups.
Prepare for these brief meetings. Know exactly the phrases you are going to tell people as soon as you have the opportunity. Make it brief - just include the most important information that could help them getting attracted to you and your business.
Some people call this “the elevator speech.” Be prepared. There are “elevators” everywhere.
